'Sachems' name honors town history

Using "Sachems" as the Saugus school team name is being questioned. My impression is that the name honors our town's history and honors Native Americans. Where is this going? Will we see the end of Notre Dame's "Fighting Irish" as well? My high school's team was the Spartans, no offense intended. I think we're overreacting here in a politically correct culture. As a Nordic-American, I would find no offense with the name "Vikings." My dad's high school was the "Green Wave." Do we have to resort to such names? At least no one should object to the Red Sox.
