Native American names really a sign of respect
There's something wrong with an America with so many jackasses running around, coming up with new ways to unjustly change our heritage.
A fine example of this stupid phenomenon is the trouble-makers trying to intimidate public school boards into abandoning names and/or mascots that recall native Americans. I am just so sick of this tomfoolery "engineering."
I happen to be 1/32 native American. The truth is that such names and mascots were chosen to acknowledge and respect native Americans and the due recognition for their contributions to our society and culture. Why would a school choose something that tends to identify themselves with something they denigrate? It makes no sense whatsoever.
These latter-day engineers are plain liars, for which I have two words: "Drop dead."
