Red Raider logo to stay

Rochester residents sent a clear message to School Board members in April that they didn't want their high school logo changed. More than 60 students, alumni, teachers, City Councilors and other residents filled the middle school cafeteria at a public hearing, with the vast majority speaking in favor of preserving the Red Raider, Spaulding High School's  symbol. They said the logo, a Native American face in profile, is a deeply ingrained emblem of school pride. The city also had the same debate, with the same result, six years ago.
