Native Americans doing very well
To the editor:
This is in response to a letter by Pete Sanfaçon. Where has this person been living and when did he get here?
The only American Indians who exist are immigrants from the country of India. I assume the people the bleeding-heart writer is talking about are Native Americans. Native Americans, in general, have found their niche and are doing very well.
The problem with sports names relating to American "Indians" should be the same as those related to Romans, Goths, Brits, Mongols, Huns and even Americans. When choosing names such as Patriots, does anyone whine? I think not.
This politically correct foolishness works on the "Left Coast." But let's remember one thing. The people who settled and civilized New England and the East Coastthose who founded our country, with all it's laws and rulesstayed here on the East Coast and did what had to be done. No slackers there.
It is the people who could not work within the framework of the laws laid down by our founding fathers in the Constitution that had to leave the civilization of the United States and move into the west to further their individual agendas and way of life.
To Mr. Sanfaçon, I say, "Get a real life."
