Give it a rest, Mr. Sanfaçon
To the editor:
I would like to take this chance to thank the great citizens of Rochester for their support over the past month with the Red Raider debate. The tremendous amount of help we received from great individuals was outstanding. I truly appreciate all of those who came to support the cause and ultimately put this discussion to rest once again.
As for Mr. Sanfaçon, you also need to give it a rest. Not only did you try to take the beloved Red Raider, but now you are attacking our very own people.
I have great respect for those who fought for the Red Raider at the hearing, regardless of what side they were on. My family has had connections with the Trepaniers since I was born and I've also known Nancy Warren and her family for years. These are awesome people who stood up for their belief and the belief of the majority of our hometown.
Until you find more support or come up with something new, hang it up for now.
If you wish to keep this going, it can get a lot bigger. The support we had that night was just a fraction of what we, as Rochester citizens, can do. If you want to make it bigger and just prolong the inevitable, then that's your choice. I don't recommend doing so.
The Spaulding Red Raider will stay in Rochester as long we have a say in it and that is a promise.
With this, I welcome any citizen who strongly supports the Red Raider as Spaulding's logo to visit our site on the web at savetheredraider.com. With over 1,000 hits and 200 petition signatures, there are people who care.
Let your voice be heard and keep the Red Raider for another 60-plus years.
