Before my first letter in January, 2006, I'd never even considered political activism as an option. This is a long haul and I expect to learn much in the coming years. I also expect to make some mistakes along the way. Fighting institutional racism takes the efforts of many people and I have many to thank. I'd like to mention one particular individual by name.
Robert Eurich of American Indian Sports Team Mascots has been an invaluable resource and mentor. His insightful and comprehensive advice on this issue have served as the basis for my work with respect to Spaulding High School's "Red Raider" name and logo. His experience and his willingness to share his insights with a novice in this area are worthy of more gratitude than I am able to express.
Please visit his website. Don't be afraid to learn something.
